Shinrin-Yoku - Forest Bathing/Guided Nature Walk w/Kamilla
Sat, December 7
4:30 PM – 6:30 PM at Snow Peak Campfield
Connecting to nature has been in practice for thousands of years by many cultures. Forest Bathing, also known as Shinrin-Yoku, was developed in the 1980's by the Japanese after studies showed mindful exploration improved mental and physical health. Forest Bathing encourages people to slow down, disengage from distractions and become aware of their surroundings using the five senses. It cultivates self-awareness, relaxation, and improves the human mind & body. Forest Bathing is an evidenced-based practice with many studies showing the benefits of this practice.

Crab Pot Christmas Tree Lighting with Fireworks!
Sun, December 8
1:00 AM – 2:00 AM at Ilwaco
One of our favorite traditions during the holidays at the beach is the annual crab pot Christmas tree lighting. Every year, the City of Ilwaco and the Ilwaco Merchants Association ring in the holidays with their yearly crab pot tree lighting. Our beloved crab pots are stacked and tracked with glorious lights to celebrate our maritime holiday heritage. Complete with Santa and the “World’s Shortest Firework Display,” you won’t want to miss this charming Pacific County tradition.
Razor Clam Season! Come dig with us. Tenatitive, dates are confirmed the week before.
Thu, December 12 – Thu, December 19
10:00 PM – 4:30 AM at At the beach!
All beach openings are dependent on final approval of marine toxin testing, which usually occurs about a week or less prior to the start of each digging series.
On all open beaches – Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Mocrocks, and Copalis – the daily limit is 15 clams per person. Each digger’s clams must be kept in a separate container, and all diggers must keep the first 15 clams they dig, regardless of size or condition.
“It's important that diggers keep the clams they dig to prevent wastage,” Blumenthal said. “It's not unusual to encounter some small clams, especially this early in the season.”
